Singapore startup dtcpay launches a retail cryptocurrency payment system with a Chinese partner.

dtcpay (formerly Digital Treasures Center) is registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and already offers several POS and online crypto payment services.

Singapore-based dtcpay is launching a payment system that enables both fiat and cryptocurrency transactions for in-store and online payments. In its announcement, the company referenced support for Tether (USDT), Ether (ETH), and Bitcoin (BTC).

For privacy-preserving digital infrastructure, the company has partnered with PlatON, an open-source blockchain, and for the development of smart terminals and digital interfaces, it has partnered with Allinpay International. Both PlatON and Allinpay are based in China. Dtcpay and Allinpay are registered with MAS as major payment institutions.

A spokesperson for Allinpay’s parent company, Tonghua International, commented:

dtcpay exchanges fiat and cryptocurrencies and will support additional digital assets as part of its new services. The company already provides POS and online checkout solutions.

In September, dtcpay signed an agreement with London-based Sumsub to provide customer verification services for the dtcpay digital wallet, and another agreement with Singapore POS provider Jeripay to enable crypto payment services across Jeripay’s network of 8,000 terminals.

Founded in 2019 and originally known as Digital Treasures Center, dtcpay was selected in November 2022 to join Mastercard’s Start Path program for cryptocurrency and blockchain startups. The company received backing from the real estate conglomerate Pontiac Land Group in its 2019 pre-seed funding round.

Last month, dtcpay raised USD16.5 million in a Pre-Series A round led by Pontiac Land Chairman Kwee Liong Tek. As a result of this investment, several Pontiac Land hotels are expected to begin accepting cryptocurrency payments in the near future.
