We are seeking a Senior Business Manager to act as the right hand to the COO, driving execution across business operations, product delivery, compliance operations, and organisational initiatives. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role for someone who can turn strategy into measurable operating outcomes, manage priorities on behalf of the COO, and operate independently in a fast-moving, regulated environment. The ideal candidate brings a financial institution background — ideally corporate banking or a payments firm — and thrives amid ambiguity and pace.

What You Will Do:

  1. Business & Operations Support
  • Support the COO in translating Group strategy into concrete operating plans, KPIs, and delivery milestones, and track progress against them.
  • Drive the day-to-day rhythm of the COO's office — planning cycles, management reporting, ExCo materials, and follow-through on decisions.
  • Coordinate core operational functions including product operations, customer support, technical liaison, and operational risk.
  • Identify process improvements that enhance scalability, efficiency, and service quality across the business.
  1. Product Delivery & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Act as the connective tissue between product, technology, and compliance teams to keep the product roadmap on track.
  • Help manage the planning, testing, and launch of payment and stablecoin products with a compliance- and security-first approach.
  • Support governance of vendor management, systems implementation, and operational risk testing.
  1. Compliance Operations & Risk
  • Support operational readiness for regulatory filings, licence applications, and compliance reviews (e.g. HKMA, SFC, FATF standards).
  • Coordinate the implementation of internal controls, including AML/CFT, transaction monitoring, and process audits.
  • Help maintain strong working relationships with regulators, banking partners, and infrastructure providers.
  1. Organisation & Execution
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), service-level standards, and product governance mechanisms.
  • Manage special projects and business transformation initiatives on behalf of the COO from end to end.
  • Prepare analysis, business cases, and briefing materials to support executive decision-making.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Typically 7+ years' experience within financial institutions, ideally in corporate banking or a payments / fintech firm.
  • Strong understanding of financial services operations, product delivery, and regulatory / compliance requirements (AML/CFT, licensing, transaction monitoring).
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and coordinate stakeholders across product, technology, compliance, and external partners.
  • Highly self-directed — able to work independently, set priorities, and deliver in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in payments, stablecoins, or digital assets is a strong advantage.
  • Fluency in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin.

What Success Looks Like:

  • The COO's priorities move forward on time, with clear tracking and fewer things falling through the cracks.
  • Improved operational governance, efficiency, and compliance readiness across the business.
  • Faster time-to-market for payment and stablecoin products through tighter cross-functional coordination.
